Chicken soup

In an electrolysis update, so far so good! It seems to work. Initial hair frying resulted in tiny scabs like little dots on my shin, which eventually healed and went away. No sign of any of the hair growing back yet.

Either my system isn't reacting so badly to electricity now or I've somehow gotten better at it, because now my right shin doesn't scab when I fry follicles. I think it's the former, because I just tried zapping some hair on my left shin yesterday and it left little red scabs, just like when I'd started on the right.

One side of my right shin is almost entirely denuded. I try to do a reasonable number of them a day but not to get obsessed and carried away. Every 10-20 leg hairs that I zap are ones I'll hopefully never have to shave again!

Stuff Aya Likes

Thing that is making Aya feel like a banana this week: the Stuff White People Like blog

My obsession with recycling, public radio, and shopping at Whole Foods have me marked. Did I mention living in San Francisco and even my pea coat do too?

Oh yeah, and tea. Dammit.

Too tired to think of a title, but

I dreamt last night that I was listening to NPR and arguing with a co-worker about which was the better play, A Winter's Tale or King Lear.

I knew I was a giant dork, but this has raised the bar so high that I now fear that I have been marked for death.

Also, I uploaded some pictures from Three Rings's Bling Party over on Flickr. None of them seem to have captured the hair-curling that I spent an hour on.

Curling Asian hair is a long and complicated process, and it starts with Step 1 : Set curling iron to 'fry.' I'm a little miffed that I've had tangled and damaged hair for a week now despite my hair starting to uncurl before I'd finished curling the rest of it. The only person who managed to catch it on film was Bill. Thank you, Bill.

Hier Kommt Oxidation

I freaked out when I saw a reddish blemish on my straightsword the other day, but it turned out it was just blood. Then I saw a stain lower on the blade today and it really was rust. )=

I'm so sad. I'm polishing it now. Maybe I'll carry around an oilcloth to wipe it off after every practice. Stupid San Francisco dampness.

In other news, everybody needs to listen to the song Hier Kommt Alex because I love drumming the song so much that I've decided that it's the German national anthem.
